Meet Dr. Hickman

Dr. Randall Hickman is a graduate of Texas A & M University.  He and wife Tricia reside in McKinney where they raised their 4 children: Scott ~currently living and working in Austin, Blake~ and wife Jessica are making their home in McKinney, Haley ~ attends The University of North Texas, and Amanda~ attends Texas A&M.

The Hickman’s currently share their home with Maggie & Lilly (teacup yorkies) and Belle (Bichon Frisee).  While in his final year at A&M, Dr. Hickman served externships at both the Dallas and Ft. Worth zoos where his passion for more exotic animals was nurtured.  He continues to have a special affinity for snakes and lizards.  At Tricia’s insistence, those critters are all housed in the Nature Center at Animal Medical Center!

After graduating from Texas A&M, Dr. Hickman worked as an associate veterinarian at Greenville Animal Hospital in Greenville, Texas.  However, having grown up in McKinney, he knew this is where he ultimately wanted to make his home and practice veterinary medicine.  In April 1991, Animal Medical Center of McKinney opened its first set of doors.  After spending several years leasing space in shopping centers, Dr. Hickman and Animal Medical Center were ready to expand and customize their space.  Animal Medical Center opened in its current location in June of 2006.
